* Do you know what IPv6 is?

Suggested article: What is an IPv6 address?

The short IPv6 stands for Internet Protocol version 6, and it is the most recent version of the Internet Protocol (IP) address standard. However, it was created more than 20 years ago.

IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses, and every one of them contains eight different groups of strings. In addition, every group has four symbols (alphanumeric), separated by a colon. All of these characteristics give the opportunity to provide a significant number of unique IP addresses.

In addition, IPv6 is a network layer protocol that makes communication and data transfer between two separate hosts possible. It establishes the rules for identifying the hosts and their locations. Only when the two IP addresses are determined can they communicate.

Perhaps IPv6 will replace the older version of IP - IPv4. Yet, the transition requires a little bit more time to be fully completed. So, for now, we can use both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
